I got a mini fridge for free from a friend, but it's missing the power supply. I'm not an electronics guy at all and figured it was worth a shot to post on this forum. Can anybody identify what I need, and where to get it? Or where else I can get help? I don't even know if it's able to plug into a wall outlet, or if it's car-only. I live in the US. Thanks a lot!
You can always try the fig-8 connector (see attached picture) and modify it's "shape" if it's to wide ..
Just measure the distance between pins and the diameter of the pins, if they match you have el-cheapo solution ..
Anything I should know about polarization? If I cut-to-fit as you mention, is there danger in plugging it in the wrong way?
Also, where the heck do I purchase an adapter with a fig-8 end?
That is probably a Peltier Cooler type device. If yes, the cooling/ heating element is the same and does not care for polarity. If you reverse the polarity, the device reverses function.
But the thermostat could be sensitive to polarity. So it is better to stick with the correct polarity. And 12V 5Amp seems to be decent.
