VPN

Hi all
I want to connect two LAN networks together via VPN tunneling, but I have a trouble, each of LAN network is behind a router with valid IP, and computers behind the router are connecting to the internet with invalid IP.
Because in this case I must set VPN server on a computer with invalid IP, I don't know how a VPN server answers to VPN client's request. So Pls tell me.
And another question is that, does VPN server listen to an especial port? (Such as FTP which listens to the TCP port 21.)
All notices are welcomed,
verilog_crack.

Re: VPN

If you want to setup a tunnel then 1 endpoint must have a non rfc1918 address...(you call it valid..don´t know why ;o)

There is no way setting up a tunnel between two endpoint with rfc1918 addresses...you need at least one external server running as tunnel endpoint...or you know the network admin who can open a dedicated port on the firewall to do port forwarding to your PC´s (o;

I suggest you look around for http tunneling...

also it depends what OS you´re running...chances are better running UNIX (o;
