HI...
Is there any technical name given to a feedline that has been etched with a certain structure ?
I have a dual patch antenna (shown in fig patch.jpg)
Microstrip Line feed
Structure (shown in Fig struct.jpg) is the magnified view
The feedline as can be seen from the patch.jpg figure, has been etched with a structure (shown in struct.jpg). This has been etched 8 times on the feedline, 4 each at the 2 extremes.
Can the structure shown in Fig. struct.jpg be called EBG structure ? If so, the feedline can be called feedline with EBG structure.
What is the criterion to say that a structure is EBG structure ? How do we match the frequency bandwidth of this structure to the antenna ?
Otherwise, what are other better technical ways/words to define such a feedline that has something etched on it ?
