Hi, I am wondering where we use USB-I2C dongle and what is the purpose of that ?

I have used USB to UART bridge in which Virtual COM appears in device manager and we configure UART settings in PuTTY or TeraTerm terminal but we use just USB cable instead of Rs232 UART cable.

What is the term called "dongle" and what is USB-I2C ?

Please refer to a specific "USB-I2C" dongle product.

"Dongle" is just a small black box, e.g. an USB key or converter. There are different USB-to-I2C converters used for specific products. FTDI has an I2C driver API and code examples for their FT232 and FT223x chip series and D2XX USB drivers, it's often used to drive I2C devices in test setups.
