What is the reason for boot failure?

may i know what is the reason for the boot failure. how to rectify it. ( i do know where to post this message )

Some system files might have been corrupt or due to virus problem the system may not boot.

Failure to boot might also be caused by the detection of missing or nonfunctional hardware during the power-on self test (POST), like for example damaged hard disk, which will cause the PC to beep. Another possible cause is the BIOS wasn't able to detect any OS boot instruction at the hard disk master boot record.
