I'm currently trying to compare the price of a coaxial cable transmission versus an optical fiber transmission for a 500m link and 1.5Gb/s. Does someone have an idea of the price of optical transmitters and receivers? I'm looking for small module/chip that I can integrate with the rest of my PCB.

thanks for the links, I knew the Fiber-Span products which is similar. My goal is to develop and integrate such an "RF on fiber" module in my design. Please note that I'm trying to transmit the (modulated) signal received at the antenna (analog signal) and not a digital signal. The received signal is only -110dBm thus I'm wondering what is the optical rx-tx sensitivity...

One more point, I checked Anacom GPS optical link solution and it costs several thousands dollars!!!! Does someone know where the cost comes from? Optical tranmsitter + receiver cost is ~< 400$ for 2GHz bandwidth components...
