Phase Noise Jitter

What's phase noise jitter? Is this problem caused by local oscillators? Is there any difference between phase noise and phase noise jitter?

Thanks,

Re: Phase Noise Jitter

a practical oscillator have a little frequency inaccuracy, i.e. it phase drifts alittle with time, this inaccuracy called jitter or phase noise.
digital designers work with jitter but RF and Analog designers work with pahse noise.
in essense jitter value is the integral of the phase noise, i.e. if u now the phase noise u can calculate the jitter.

BEST!
