Hi, I want to know what the pass/fail criteria of a chip for the ESD test is.

Assume i have a OP amp and want to classify whether this chip passes or fails for 500V ESD CDM test.

what is the criteria?

Is it functional criteria? for example, the gain of OP amp.

or is it also contains the visual things? like burnout.

I want to know the pass/fail criteria and how detect it.

is there any technology/methodology to detect the chip failure?

At a minimum, the zapped part should pass the same ATE
testing you did before applying the ESD to it. Really you
ought to look at pin electrical deltas as well, passing or not,
to say whether you have drifted or perhaps put latent
damage to it.

A manufacturer with the test capability already sitting
there has an easy way to do this. A third party, less so.
