The Gated Sinusoid defines a sine wave that is gated on and off by a trapezoidal waveform. The frequency of the gating trapezoid is the same as the frequency of the sine wave. One cycle of the waveform is displayed in the upper graph of the Source form. The waveform has zero amplitude at time zero.
Peak Amplitude sets the sine wave peak amplitude.
Frequency sets the waveform frequency.
Duty Cycle sets the percentage of the waveform period that the sine wave is gated off by the trapezoidal waveform.
Duration sets the length of time from the end of the rise time to the start of the fall time.
Rise Time sets the time from zero amplitude to the point at which the trapezoid amplitude equals the sinusoid amplitude. Rise time is linear. Rise time may not be less than 1/(4*Frequency), i.e. one-fourth of the waveform period.
Fall Time sets the time from when the trapezoid amplitude equals the sinusoid amplitude to zero amplitude. Fall time is linear. Fall time may not be less than 1/(4*Frequency), i.e. one-fourth of the waveform period.
The times at which the trapezoidal rise and fall transitions begin are determined by Duration, Rise Time, and Fall Time.
