What is the format of a URL address?? Can it be understood?

an address like the above.. consists of some parts.. "HTTP" keyword, "://" operator, the url itself, "?" , another expression with "&" and "=" and sometimes other operators..

Can someone explain the general form of any url in general?

but if someone has more simplified explaination, i don't want to go into that details...

May be it could be written as

<protocol>://[<subdomains>.]<subdomain_level1>.<domain>/[page][arguments]

?
