[SOLVED] What is the definition of a boot loader?

What is mean by boot loader . Is it a program for the start up purposes?.Please give me a detailed reply.Is there any examples for ATmega32?.If yes please give me one example.

well bootloader is a small program ,that lets you to work wit serial comunication /not only/ with the microcontroler.Arduino use bootloader to load program in to the MCU ,programmer is not needed!
