The problem with China is the shipping cost (and import duty if there is any). I would think it would only be economical for large quantities. Also, China RNB is linked to the dollar, although I believe it has devalued recently.

You will not find vendors with large inventory and selection at lower prices. You will find the occasional surplus dealer with some components at cheaper prices but it won't be a one stop shopping for most projects. If you have to order from various vendors for your BOM list, the shipping will add up quickly. I sometimes order components from China much cheaper but you are restricted to minimum order quantities which can be 1K-3K pieces/part order. Only good for production, not prototypes.

Do you really want to buy cheap (cheep, cluck cluck) junk where half or more DO NOT WORK?
Most of us buy high quality NAME BRAND parts that are not expensive from high quality parts distributors.

I designed an audio equalizer product and had tens of thousands made with name brand parts. NOT a single one failed! My customers were happy and I made a good profit.
But if I saved a few bucks by buying cheeeep junk parts then many of them would have failed and my reputation and money would be mud.

I have every now and then bought components and materials from eBay. Typically I have not bought too "difficult" parts, but passive components, discrete semiconductors, some connectors and similar. The parts have been so far of descent quality.

In many cases either with free or quite reasonable shipping cost. Maybe the largest problem is delivery time, which can vary a lot, anything from one week to six, usually 3-4. Most cases the seller has been in China, Hong Kong, or Thailand. They seem to have quite reasonable shipping costs.

Importing small padded envelopes with moderate quantities of cheap electronics components has never caused any issues with customs in Finland, where I live. They arrive to my mailbox, no paperwork or fees. For hobby and prototyping an OK solution.

I don't know how the customs processing of small parcels is in Egypt - if it is a hassle, or as easy as importing to Finland. That way, I believe, you can get some of the materials quite easily and to low cost. However, finding a local component dealer is often the best solution. I'm sure there are at least a few in Egypt. Try Google with relevant keywords (in Arabic, likely).
