I need to use switches to set 8 bits digital signal (0 or 1). what is the best switch I can use on PCB? Jumper is an option, but it uses too much space. thanks.

"Best" in what way?

How about a common DIP switch? Lots of companies make them. Here's one:

"Best" means compact board area. If I use DIP switch, I will need some pull-up resistors (100KOhms for 1.2V power supplier). I do not know if it is ok. If I use two position slide switch, the pull-up resistors are not needed and high/low can be setted easily. Thanks.

Best switch means, do you want transistor or FET wants to be in switch mode?
