If you have access to Indian author books read the following for clear and basic level to intermediate understanding,
1. Balaguru swamy
2. yaswanth kanitkar

Read Bjarne stroustrup for mastering

IMO "The Annotated C++ Reference Manual" by Ellis and Stroustrup would be a good reference manual, which is both precise and concise.

If you intend to target Windows applications, forget C++, it's a twisted mess of a language. Move on to C#.

All the books mentioned above are very good but

I recommend you following two books.The first one give you in depth explanation of C++ language and second one give you good example And practice codes with good exercises for hands on practice.

1-Beginning C++ By Ivor hortons

2-Schaum's Outline of Fundamentals of Computing with C++. by John Hubbard

Both are excellent for beginners.
