Hi,

I have a part number BAT54WC which is a schottky barrier diode with a current rating of 0.2A.

It's basically 2 diodes (D1 & D2) in parallel with each other (common cathode).

Let say the anode of D1 I will term it as V1 and anode of D2 term is V2 with their both diode cathode connected to a single point, VOUT.

Can I assume that when V1 > V2, VOUT = V1 - 0.7V ? Similarly, when V2 > V1, VOUT = V2 - 0.7V ?

Thanks

Cheers,

Shottky diode have small forward voltage (320mV on 1mA, 400mV on 10mA).
It is usable for
1) as small current power supply backup summing for SRAM or RTC (one diode to main power +, other to backup battery +).
2) as voltage limiter for protecting low voltage (+3.3V) powered IC, when interfacing to +5V other IC, via rezistor and connecting diode to low
voltage (+3.3V) power supply
3) as small simple diode (or 2 parallel for increase max current), like BAV99 .....
4) ......

max voltage detection, min voltage detection
