i bought a mpg (manual pulse generator) for controlling servo motor. in that mpg it has a+, a- and b+,b- and it is written the output is rs422 i want only a and b phase only how to connect to micro controller. kindly help ?

RS422 is a physical layer standard (electrical). With RS422 (unlike RS232) the signal travels in 2 lines (tx+ and tx-). This is called differential transmission.

Probably, you microcontroller doesn't have inbuilt RS422 buffers, so to make thing work - you'll need a bidirectional single ended to RS422 tranciever.
