Guyz,

I'm learning about noise and i come across the term RIAA. I'v searched thru the internet but i couldn't get the meaning of the word RIAA itself.
I also wonder why some datasheet refer the RIAA as VNI (Equivalent input noise voltage), and some use spectrum density as VNI measurement.

RIAA = Recording Industry Association of America

For RIAA equalization circuit and RIAA equaliztion curve goto:

any idea why some used RIAA (uVrms) as reference for input noise voltage and others used spectrum density (nV/(Hz)0.5)?
