what is meant by glueless architecture ?

also is there any good free dictionary or site that help me in embedded system acronyms

thanks

Hi

Glue-less means that no other silicon is necessary to connect the processors together. For example, The Nehalem EX with four full QPI can support glue-less 8-way system architecture. Each processor connects directly to all seven other processors with a half-wide QPI link, and uses the remaining half wide QPI to connect to the IOH.

I dont know any embedded dictionary port so wide to cover everything. Sorry.

thanks for reply

the reason for my qestion is that Rabbit semi conductor says
that they have an advantage of • The glueless architecture makes it is easy to design the hardware system

So is they mean that their processor can be connected to any processor directly without any chips in between ????

is that an advantage ??? - i think even multible of 8051 could be connected together then is 8051 considered to be glueless architecture too ??
