Hi, I understood that the scrambler does prevent the long sequences of 1's or 0's. What are the effects observed when scrambler is not present or disabled?
In many circumstances long sequences of the same level are perfectly acceptable. There are two reasons why they may benefit from scrambling:
1. it helps to maintain the average level near to 50% which is important in some transmission systems,
2. it prevents long periods between level changes which helps when using the edges to extract timing information.
