What is a Virtual Router?

Hi , Can anybody explain what is Virtual Router and its applucations?

virtual things are things that physicaly dont exist
just when you run the software
so the software is a model of real hardware
a software audio codec is also a virtual dsp controller
so...they are used to replace hardware units
sometimes to save space most often to replace redundant hardware designs
that dont fit the scheme but are needed units

virtual router is a software desgined for trainers to work with router virtually , some of these are located in valid ip addresses around the word to work with it, some other has a stand alone engine that u can download them,install them and then use it, u can search for router simulators for ccna to download one of them.
