What is a slow clock oscillator embedded microprocessor (MPU)

I am using SAMA5D27C-D1G-CU in my design. In the signal description I can see that it has two oscillators.
Main oscillator and slow clock oscillator. Please see the image below.
I have couple of questions.
  • What is the difference between main oscillator and slow clock oscillator.
  • Why we need a main oscillator and slow clock oscillator?
  • Will the IC work without slow clock oscillator?
  • What is the purpose of slow clock oscillator?

There is a whole section "Slow Clock Controller (SCKC)" in the datasheet.
Read it.
The 4 lines of the description covers all basics one needs to know.

Main Oscillator --> read section "Main Clock"

Will the IC work without slow clock oscillator? --> Yes.

Page 370 of the data sheet.

It is for connecting a low frequency resonator/crystal or external low frequency clock to drive the RTC. It can also be used to put the IC into low power mode where current consumption is minimized but it is able to recognize an event that switches it to full speed when necessary.

Actually four oscillators, fast and slow crystal oscillator mentioned in your post, in addition fast and slow internal RC oscillator.
