Hello everyone,
I just had a basic doubt with addition in dB..
What is 0dB + 0dB?
Regular way of caclulating leads you to 3 dB. But is that true?
Have fun pondering,, and if you think of another solution, please tell me how and the reasoning behind it

Re: dB addition

ananth,
0 dBmeans that the power ratio (gain) = 10^0 = 1.
.
0 dB + 0 dB means that the net power gain = 1 X 1 = 1.
.
The corresponting gain in dB is 10 LOG(1) = 0 dB.
Regards,
Kral
