Doublet Response

Hello,
What exactly is a doublet response. Is the the delay response which shoots down and immediately shoots up due to a very close by zero and a pole in the transfer function???
Can anybody give me a simple transfer function which will have a doublet response???

Re: Doublet Response

Hello aryajur,

A doublet is the derivative of a Dirac delta (always in distributional sense).
The impulse response of a differentiator is a doublet. It is also the step response of a double differentiator.
The impulse response of a double differentiator is a triplet (the derivative of a doublet), an so on...
