What does the expression rail-to-rail mean ?

rail-to-rail supply voltage, rail-to-rail amplifier etc..

Could someone explain what does the expression rail-to-rail mean ?

Hi,
Means only that your signal peak to peak amplitude can take the full range of your power supply_ more or less..
Some time can a "Over RRInput" exist too, but regularly its smalller as yupply voltages, but is thgt to that.
If your OpAmp has i.e. +/_5V supply voltage: input signal is possible upto +4.9 & -4,9V, similarly on the output too.
Btw RROutputs value is load depending.

rail-to-rail ?

As Karesz said.

A "rail" is another way of describing a power supply, which is where the term comes from. So you will also see "positive rail". "negative rail" etc.
