Hi All
we are sending out a board for a full turn key service and they are asking if any component can be washed. What does this mean and where can I find the information? I don't see them in datasheets at all. This is the first time a board house asked me.

Thanks

It probably has to do with process for cleaning the flux off of the board. which would not be on a data sheet. if you have open dies or non-hermetic packages it could be a problem.

Yeah usually the assembly shop cleans the boards with ionized water and alcohol after assembly. Apparently certain components can't be washed, but most parts are. If they can't be washed it's usually indicated in the data sheets such as small switches.

Thanks
