CAM - Content Address Memory is similar to SRAM with a compare logic. CAM is widely used in networking in search engine. The SRAM part of the CAM stores the IP address. For IPV4 you need 256.256.256.256 memory size. Actually there are some techniques were with small CAM memory you can store all the ip address. So when a match is found while doing a ip address search, the CAM enables a match/success signal.
