What happen???

¡¡ Barcelona Design is out of bussines !!

You can see:

**broken link removed**

Basically, two reasons gave them for this unsuccessful:

--Unclear business model and overly ambitious goals around the idea of building a
company around analog intelectual property.

--Most Barcelona's analog IP, remains in-house at large companies, and a lot of analog functionality is still going off-chip.

Still a news to me:O
It seems that some guys from Stanford/UCLA started up the company?

What is "Barcelona design"?

Barcelona Design was a EDA tool company that tried to automate the design of analog integrated circuit meaning you just give them the specs and they will come up with the schematic , layout within minutes based on computer automation based on a chosen fab process. At first they were successful with smaller analog circuits like folded cascode but when getting to bigger analog blocks like ADC they were not very successful. Big names involved several professors from Stanford university and Miss Hendershen from Barcelona a graduate student from Stanford. Quite high profile when they first started.
