Sensors that have their output data enabled like compass, altitude, horizon, rpm, voltage..., send it to what unit to sequence/glue/serialize? it into the flight recorder ? What is the name of that unit ? Is there a mandatory or standard protocol for that data format ?
I understand small 'private' airplanes may have standalone instruments for pilot visual reading only, not outputting data and not part of this thread.
