Re: Price of FPGA chips

Hi ojer25

Try this site, they have prices of Xilinx devices:
hxxp://www.avnetmarshall.com/ next Price & Availability and search your device

you can compare them with Altera prices:

Re: Price of FPGA chips(for eltonjohn )

Dear eltonjohn
in this site whene i try
it say no match
another asking
do you know the difference between Virtex Series and spartan3 Series
and which the best :D

Re: Price of FPGA chips

Virtex is for high-end, Spartan is for low-cost.

Spartans are usually more than enough for most projects.

Virtex is the big brother of Spartan II. Virtex II goes along with Spartan III.

Finding Spartan III may be hard for the moment. Those are a new technology (90nm). The chip is designed with smaller trace size, and is the first using a soo small trace size. The combany that manufacture the chips (Intel) is still having problems (very low yield) and as such, some of the Spartan III family can be hard to get (1500K gates for example). Though, the manufacturer will most probably resolve the problem in the near future, so thel'll be able to provide full-production to Xilinx.

Xilinx have a BIG problem with their main chipmaker
(UMC) technologies. And S-3 is not 90 nm. and not low-k.

Try Altera

Re: Price of FPGA chips

Prices vary from vendor to vendor depending on volume. You can try Farnell, Digikey, Newark and RS Components for small volume, all available thru credit card purchase.

Delay (delayed by technology)
