PCI-X vs PCI Express

Could you answer these questions?

What are the differences between these two standards?

Which is better?

How old are them?

What are their concurrents?

Etc.

Thanx for help.

Robin

PCI-X vs PCI Express

For new design, PCI-Express is recommended.
PCI-Express has higher data-rate and lower power consumption

PCI-X vs PCI Express

pci express will be released on the newest motherboards for th athlon 64 chip imho the best processor. it is indeed the recommended option

Re: PCI-X vs PCI Express

PCI Express is the future of device connectivity. and this is mainly due to the fact that it is highly supported by Intel.

Re: PCI-X vs PCI Express

the newest is the pci-express , it has a great bandwith like twice of the oldest pci, but they only come with the new intel chipset 925

Re: PCI-X vs PCI Express

PCI-Express( in short PCI-X) supports data transfers upto 132 MWords/sec
A word may be 32bit or 64-bit (in the extended PCI). The old PCI supports 66 Mwords/sec.

Re: PCI-X vs PCI Express

PCI-Express( in short PCI-X)

im sorry thats not true. PCI-Express and PCI-X are two different technologies. do a google on this and read some articles on this

Re: PCI-X vs PCI Express

PCI Express involves credit based transfer ...where as PCI-X doesn't have this feature.

Re: PCI-X vs PCI Express

The two Spec!

PCI-X vs PCI Express

The main diff is
PCI-x has parallel data transfer
PCI-Express is serial data transfer
