what are the amps of a 250 Watts AC universal motor of 230 V supply ?

Is it correct ?

P = V * I

I = P / V

I = 250/230

I = 1.086 OR 1.1 Amps

why didn't we use the power factor in that calculation ?

thnx

No you did not use the P.F. in your equations. You found the real current and not the complex current which uses VA as its power.

so what is the exact & correct calculation ?

The power in 'n' phase circuit is given by n*v*i*cosine(angle between voltage and current). Here 'v' is the voltage between line to neutral. 'i' the current flowing in the conductor. 'n' is the number of phases. Use the same and calculate the current.
