What are reasons why Blu ray players not completely replacing DVD Players?

1. Price of standalone players: $Blu ray > $DVD
2. Price of media: $Blu ray > $DVD
3. Majority of consumers don't care as much about the quality of the video/sound that Blu ray has over DVD. The same reason why VHS won the war with Beta.
4. Many people would rather stream a library of movies on their phone than watch TV with a Blu ray or DVD player, those people will probably never buy a Blu ray player unless it happens to be in a game console.

Blue ray players are costly, it's costly to render a blue ray content as well. Market these days has been flooded with tons of online tools, and smart tvs are taking up the charge, it's really not suitable to spend on a blue ray player. YouTube is supporting 4k videos now, there are media streamers available for as low as INR 999 only. It's not a good idea to invest on a blue ray player in this era.
