Warning system

Hi all,
I am new to Embedded hardware,
my application is based on DSP processor. After processing my signals I have to generate 2 different warning alarms for say 2 critical conditions. My doubt is should I require a
1. DAC and Speaker combination(Am I making it complex) or
2. Simple circuitry as in Buzzer to produce warning alarm ??? (In this case can we generate a proper beep like sound)

can u share some info...
Plz help...

Thnx in advance... ;)

Re: Warning system

Why to make it complex when you can get two different audible indications with a simple Dc buzzer. As a buzzer sounds when power is applied, you have to just switch the power at diffrent intervals to dishtinguish between two situations. Mean switch on the buzzer for 1 sec on and 1 sec off for one condition and 0.5 sec on and 0.25 seconds off for other situation....Cheers
