Hi,

I am using dimmer module, which controls 4 x 5A output. Working with the processor of Atmega16A. Communication between interface(switches) and the dimmer module is 250,000bps baudrate RS485 protocol.

When i bring the walkie-talkie nearby the dimmer module the module's display goes OFF and re-starts again.

What is the reason behind that? How to rectify this problem?

Is it because of the communication frequency problem or EMI generation?

Thanks in advance.

The RF from your walkie talkie is just getting inside your processor module and interferring with its action. To over come this sort of problem its best to put the processor in a metal box and filter every line that runs from inside the box to the outside world.

Thanks to all.
I will protect the processor and SMPS supply by shielding.
