wake up light with Node MCU

Hi everyone,

I want to make a wake-up light for my bedroom, I want the Node MCU to slowly increase the brightness of an LED strip from zero to maximum over a span of 45 minutes so that I can wake up without disturbing my neighbors.

The problem I have yet to find a solution is the controller interface APP. I would like to create a user interface on my phone using that I can set the alarm time, then a switch that can toggle the light position to on and off with a slider to control brightness. I am not sure the popular Blink APP will support the slowly ramping signal.


Any suggestions?

Simple:
Use PWM and a slow timer to increase the brightness.
Blink (I assume Blynk) can be used to set the timer, turn the light on or off and by using a slider if needed. You could also set the clock using NTP if you wanted.

There are many examples on the Web showing how to interface the ESP8266 with Android based smartphones. For simple applications as such, I would reccomend the MIT Application 2 or any other similar, which is suitable even for experienced programmers, it saves a lot of time doing things with a very friendly interface.
