I was wondering if anybody can tell me how to define the gain of a voltage to time converter (VTC). Let me explain what is in my mind for more clarifications.
I ma using a PWM generator as a voltage to time converter in the SIMULINK. Put me right if I am wrong! A VTC plays a role a simple gain. Now, I want to replace my PWM generator( a VTC in my case) with a simple gain. How can I define the gain of this VTC?
Perhaps you change gain by changing the amplitude of the triangle wave (which could alter the conditions which cause a change of state)?
Or by changing the capacitor values (which should change a related RC time constant somewhere)?
Since 'time' is the output, then it should reflect some kind of time-related element. Below is one of few hits after trying a search. The input voltage to a 555 timer IC determines the length of output pulses.
