mplab command line

Does anybody know if it is possible to increment the version, when a file is compiled with MPLAB and any PIC microcontroller.

what do u mean, MPLAB version or hex file serial number ???

Think he means, that after compiling a hex file (and the rest), the next time he re-compiles the same file, instead of overwriting the previous, a new file is made, incrementing the file number for instance.

Cheers
sda

Thank you SDA for clearing that up. Yes that is what I want.

Ok the question was not clear
I think MPLAb is not able to do this
You can make it with a small VB or so on program :
1/ save the last source(s) + hex files with increment number (or date + hour)
2/ shell mpasm (copy MPLab command-line)
