vehicle count access control

I want to work on a project on vehicle counting system to control the access to a car park. I am to use a very big display more than the size of tft. as per what am seeing, could i solve that with pic or could deploy arm. and if so is arm so first in handling? the number of vehicles in the park i get from the database. I am researching and would welcome any idea.

First please direct me to a link where i can get a big lcd display to buy for that purpose. Second, my data would need to come from the database because i think it would be cheaper that way because i have already installed the system running and managing some parking area, so i need to inform the drivers at the gate whether there is a space and get in or no space to find another place, so i was thinking of using microcontroller to receive data from program that would be looping after some seconds to send the count value. So first getting the right big lcd would be a big start.
