Hello,

We are trying to run vcs on a Fedora Core machine and get a bunch of errors which says

undefined reference to `__ctype_b'

Any ideas on what these might be and how we could go about resolving them ?

Try to install all the development packages. Because VCS will use gcc and some library to compile the design, make sure you have all the development packages installed.

Re: vcs + Fedora Core and : undefined reference to `__ctype_

The ctype functions are enhanced to support LOCALE since glibc 2.3 and
vcs is developed with glibc 2.2.

You may
1. use RedHat 8 (glibc 2.2 based) or RHEL (it has compat-glibc 2.2).
2. make your own ctype.c from glibc 2.3 source code & join the linkage.

Does anyone know whether the lateset VCS support Fedora Core 3 or
not? And what is its version number?

the latest VCS version is vcs7.2,it can support RHEL3.0 very well.

Re: vcs + Fedora Core and : undefined reference to `__ctype_

Thanks for the info.

But vcs runs smoothly on RHEL 3 because RHEL has compatible glibc 2.2
packages. vcs 7.2 should be compiled against the latest glibc again.

Wish next version of vcs support Fedora Core 3 and 4, gcc 4.0 very well.
