Using your PC to send/receive SMSs: a useful project for demonstrating both bluetooth and SMS APIs
Hi folks!
I would like to propose a working together effort for developing a PC controlled midlet (via bluetooth) to both send and receive SMS messages and also, of course, interpreting them as well. I am always interested in explaining things in details and demystifying technologies.
If you know any available similar project, I could test it and put a link to it here. It's important that such project license allows it to be freely used or modified for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
Beyond that, I really find this upcoming system (I hope we succeed developing it or finding it) useful for developing SMS activated games prototypes or issuing small business alerts. At least In Brazil it's expensive to establish a large account for small companies interested in contacting their employees or even when someone would like to try a new game using SMS.
I will be waiting for comments and suggestions before diving into project and coding.
Bye
John
