using the smbus

hello,

I have got a mainboard with a smbus connector. (this is an epia via mainboard).
I would know if I could use this smbus as an I2C bus. So, is it possible to send data through this bus. Is it possible to drive an pcf8574 (I2C I/O) or read an I2C real time clock e.g.

Does anyone know where I could find driver for win95/win98

thanks.

Look for the Linux lm-sensors package to see what's possible on a decent OS

On Windows, I know of MotherboardMonitor (http://mbm.livewiredev.com). There are some descriptions on their site dealing with extending the SMBus.

Re: using the smbus

yes you can,

for that you have to confug. your device as slave device and than with SMBUS by using PCI you can comunicate with your device,
