Hello! I would like to talk about DR puck altering using different methods. Lets say i have few GHz DR, using sand paper or small drill with abrasive make it height smaller, so frequency goes higher. I want to ask how feasible it is, how much tuning i can get, what happens with q factor. wich abrasive head for small drill i can use? thanks

To increase DR resonant frequency I would use a copper or aluminum tuning screw- the closer to DR, the higher is the frequency. All satellite-LNB oscillators are tuned this way.
Many DRs are made of ceramic composition that is adjusted to temperature-compensate the design resonant frequency. Grinding a DR will break its design specs.
