using Rayleigh fading model

My question is Why in the majority of cases the Rayleigh channel is used,although we have other models(Rician...)
 

For digital communication, the Rayleigh fading model closely approximates reality.

Ok thanks for the response,have you a document that explain this choice.
 

Rayleigh channels are almost worst case scenario. In Nakagami-m channel modeling the worst channel has a parameter m = 0.5, while Rayleigh has a parameter m = 1. Also, Rayleigh channel is mathematically more convenient; the SNR distribution is exponential.
