Hello,

I designed a circuit some months ago that uses passive POE to power up itself. In the passive POE, the Voltage is transferred by unused pins. Pins configuration is uploaded.

I have bought a POE support switch that uses 802.3af. I wasn't able to power up my circuit and no voltage is injected to my circuit. I will be grateful if you could kindly help me to use 802.3af power lines voltages.

Hi,

There is a POE standard you may read through it.

It's many years sice I read some parts.

The 802.3af standard has several steps:
* detection
* classification
* startup
* normal operation

It starts with low voltage, low power ... and the high voltage is provided on demand only.

But I'm no specialist for this ...

Klaus
