Hi everybody,
I am designing a backup supply (a AC/DC converter witch can feed a DC load even if the mains power fails), I have a problem with the choice of my AGM battery.
AGM batteries are 2 types: deep discharge or starting batteries.
For my application, I can't choose a starting battery so it remain the deep discharge one.
The problem is that this battery may also work for micro mains power cut-off, witch can consume less than 5% of the its capacity, but I read that this kind of use of a deep discharge battery can cause some chemical problems for the plates referring to https://www.solar-electric.com/deep-cycle-battery-faq.html#Starting,%20Marine,%20and%20Deep-Cycle%20Batteries.
Does someone confirm this?
