May 8, 2007 #3 E elecomp Newbie level 5 Joined Apr 27, 2007 Messages 9 Helped 0 Reputation 0 Reaction score 0 Trophy points 1,281 Activity points 1,350 a USB tranciever i guess you think usb is like rs232 and it only needs level conversion for connecting to pc. but it's not like that. usb needs driver for the pc side and handshake code for the board side. chips from ftdichip and silabs do all of that for you and you get rid of writing pc-side driver and board-side handshake code.
