USB RS232 of Atmega8 – in/out ports

It is an USB RS232 I/O port module – an USB-RS232 adapter based on the following project:**broken link removed**. The device uses processor Atmega8 with quartz 12MHz. The system operates with correctly set fuse bits (CKSEL 3..0 = 1, SUT1 = 0, SUT0 = 0). Schematic can be found below.
The PCB was made in thermal transfer method (picture below). Z-6 housing used.

The system can:
  • control the ports (15 pins)
  • send and receive data (RS232 TTL, after adding MAX232 makes it possible to communicate with a PC)
  • receive RC5 code

Modification of the code allows you to add new functions:
  • ISP programmer
  • I2C programmer
