Hello, I am doing some prep for an exam. One of the past exam questions was:

state where the following would be used in the entertainment industry (TV, radio, music etc.)
1) 75 ohm coaxial cable
2) 50 ohm coaxial cable
3) 100 ohm unshielded twisted pair cable

I know 75 ohm coax would be used for VIDEO
I guess 50 ohm coax would be used for AUDIO ?
but where would 100 ohm UTP be used within the entertainment industry as per the question ?

Thanks for any help.

I think of 75 ohm coax being used as a tv antenna cable.

The 50 ohm coax goes between my vcr and my tv.

Whenever I have measured my audio cables they are practically a short circuit (with the exception of special attenuating cables).

Twisted pair is similar to telephone cable or thermostat cable, I believe. It might carry low-fidelity communications between technicians, or carry sensor signals or control signals to equipment.

I could be wrong.
