Need some help here with the BT caller ID design.

I've some questions.

-Do we actually need to detect the line reversal if we already the DTAS?

-It require AC load and wetting pulse in part of the protocol. Is this actually necessary or it will make the purformance better. Some chip maufacturer app. note has this but some don't.

Thanks in advance,

It is not mandatory to detect the line-reversal in UK! Now CID design is always performed by DSP, use the all-detection (always monitor the line with corresponded CID frequencies), it is much easier to do so.

Thanks Rayegine,

How about wetting pulse? Do we acutally need to generate the wetting pulse? Is that part of the protocal?

TIA,

TIA,

It is also historial design, not need on the present pan-European design. But some telephone company still insist to do this scheme for backward compability.
