Hello All,

I am designing power supply circuit for 24V truck system.

DC-DC convertor IC which i have selected is having continues input voltage maximum Vin_conti= 60V
& Absolute maximum input is of Vin_absolute = 70V.

There is a Load dump test in automitive i.e. 174V is applied for 350ms.
Also I need to pass another test of applying 48V for 10 minutes.

To pass this tests I have selected TVS Diode of 5000W with minmum breakdown voltage of 49V & maximum clamping voltage of 64V.

During the Load dump test TVS Diode will clamp to 64V which is greater by 4V than Vin_conti but less than
Vin_absolute ratings.

The question I am having is whether this extra 4V for few miliseconds will effect on DC-DC convertor or not?

kindly support me on this

best regards,
Nachiket
